Invisalign® in Lake Oswego, OR
If you are hoping to get a straighter smile but would rather avoid a mouth full of metal, Invisalign may be your best orthodontic option. Using nearly invisible aligners, Invisalign can move your teeth and give you the beautifully straight smile you deserve. Our board certified orthodontist in Lake Oswego, Dr. John Delplanche, can help you determine if Invisalign is right for you and will be there with you throughout your treatment.
How Invisalign Works
The Invisalign system is a simple one that works gradually and gently to help you achieve your best smile. To begin your treatment, we use our digital scanner to record your teeth as they are now. Dr. Delplanche also works with you to design your new smile, the one you’ll have at the end of your treatment. Using the smile design and digital scan, the lab creates your first sets of Invisalign trays. Come in for a quick fitting and instructions on wearing Invisalign once the trays are ready.
Wear the trays for at least 20 hours a day for one week and then switch to the next set in your series. Visit us for a check-in every 4-12 weeks and receive your next sets of aligners. As you make your way through each new set of trays, you’ll notice that your teeth are being pushed into their ideal positions. Soon, you’ll be showing off a new smile every chance you get!
Benefits of Invisalign
Our patients have told us time and again how much they love the Invisalign system. It provides a number of benefits for those with alignment or bite issues, especially compared to traditional metal braces.
- Clear aligners are hardly noticeable
- Plastic material is smooth and won’t cut or irritate gums or cheeks
- Trays are removable, so eat, drink, brush, and floss like normal
- Treatment time is, on average, shorter than with traditional braces
- You’ll come in for fewer check-in appointments at our office
